Our name, Klappir, means "bedrock" in Icelandic, symbolising our unwavering commitment to being a solid ally for our customers on their sustainability journey.

We are a pioneering sustainability platform and customers such as Iceland Air, IKEA and Toyota rely on us to navigate the often complex world of sustainability.

Bringing clarity to the world of sustainability through our data driven platform, helping businesses manage sustainability data in real-time.

Who are we?
Our story begins in 2013 where Klappir was founded by a family of four - all passionate environmentalists and data enthusiasts.

Today we have customers in 40+ countries using our platform, including companies across many industries, municipalities, and governmental institutions.

The present organisation of Klappir consist of around 30 persons based in Reykjavik and Copenhagen – now expanding, as we pursue our goal to become a leading player in the field of sustainability. This is where you come in!

The Opportunity
As our Business Development Specialist you'll play a key role in scaling our business relationships and strengthening existing ones, all while championing our commitment to a greener world.


Your mission is simple – empower businesses to drive their sustainability efforts with our innovative products. 

About you
Your previous job titles are not the most essential to us – most importantly, you come with strong collaboration skills, an interest in people 
and a true team-player mentality.

Your ability to influence others comes from your high level of empathy and you connect emmotionally with colleagues, potential customers, partners and other relevant stakeholders.

You’re a self-starter with a drive to move things forward, combining your g
enuine interest in sustainability with a good understanding of technology. 

You’ve got strong negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills supported by time management and organisational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.

You enjoy being part of a company in growth, both entailing new and exciting opportunities as well as an ever evolving and changing landscape.

You have a global mindset - encompassing 
looking forward to thrilling team building and strategy work trips to Iceland!

To succeed in the role, we expect you to have:
  • A university degree or equivalent experience
  • An excellent command of Danish and English (both written and spoken).
  • Proven experience in sales or a similar role such as customer success, key account manager or other customer focused role
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital platforms for sales activities and
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools are a plus.


Here's what you'll do:
With a team of tech and sustainability skilled colleagues at your back you will:
  • Actively prospect and identify potential clients. Your ambition, enthusiasm, and creative thinking will be your most potent tools. 

  • Build meaningful and lasting partnerships with clients, ensuring that they receive the highest level of service and satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop innovative sales strategies, analyse market trends, set sales goals, and keep track of sales performance. You'll use data to drive decision-making and growth.

  • Work closely with our internal teams such as marketing, customer service, and product development, to align sales efforts and improve customer experience.

Our Danish office is the “Klappir Nordics” office and the central point of our operations in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.

The office currently consists of two people (Business Development Lead and Partnership Lead), with lots of support from the Icelandic colleagues, who also regularly visit the Danish office.

As a bonus, the Danish team also gets to visit Iceland several times per year to do team buildings and strategy work together. 

You'll report to our Business Development Team Lead, Isabelle Broddén - and we can't wait to see you!
